THE GOD-GIVEN GIFT IN YOU

By gift I am not referring to the obvious gifts that are freely given to us when we become children of God, yes you become a child of God, you are not born a child of God, rather you are born as one of the people of God, you only become a child of God the day you get born again, that is accepting Jesus as your lord and savior-let me not deviate from the main subject, this is a subject for another article. Back to the gift of God, I am referring to that talent, that thing only you can do best in your own unique way, that thing that gives you ultimate satisfaction just for doing it, even before it produces results or even before you are commended for it, that thing you would do even if there was never to be income from it, provided there were no bills to pay (this is to let you know that I know you have to make money).

Say you had no bills to pay, no expenses at all, say living was just as free as walking in the park, what is that one thing you would do just to satisfy yourself? What is that one thing you know you would do right no matter how grey the sky got? Do you know it? Then why are you not doing it now? Because it wouldn’t pay the bills huh? Tell you what; any God-given gift in you can pay the bills, only if you believe in it, only if you focus all your energy in doing it without doubt. A man of God said something that really moved me recently during a Sunday preaching, he said, ‘do not do things based on your current abilities, do what God has called you to do’ and I thought, that is the most profound thing I’ve heard all year,I realized that, should I follow upon what God called me to do, my life would be a lot easier, if you have read my previous article titled ‘far down the wrong road? Make a U-turn’ you will understand why I say my life would be a lot easier. Trust me, doing what God has called you to do is the best thing you can ever do for yourself.

I believe everyone has something to offer, that is why you are here by the way-so it’s certainly not for specific people but for each and every individual who has ever been born into this world, and it is certainly not a mistake that you are good at making people laugh, I’m sure God loves to see his people laughing every now and then. We often neglect our gifts, bury them to follow some courses for the sake of making a living, we fully convince ourselves that the very gifts God has invested in us can never land us a living, and we depend on the intellects of other people to live our own lives. Isn’t that the saddest thing in the world? Why do you think the God who knows the end from the beginning gave you that talent? Have you ever asked yourself why you? There must be something important about it being in you, if you believe that God knows the end from the beginning then I take it you believe that he knows every little thing due to happen on your path, I take it you believe he programmed your life and invested all the necessities before you were born, one of the necessities being that gift.

Another man said something on Tshwane FM just recently and I happened to hear it as I was writing this article, he said; “When you follow your talent, you automatically feel happiness, it elevates you, you can be cutting tomatoes but if it’s your talent, it automatically satisfies you, discover your talent because it will make you feel special” and Pastor Chris once said, “What is that one thing you know you can do really good? Get to work and make a success out of it”.

What I am trying to do here is let you know that there is more within you to get you wherever you want to be, you are too important to God and you carry something beneficial to his people or else,i bet you would have died as a baby or before you were even born, let alone the fact that God would have just chosen not to create you. That gift in you can make a better living for you than all the worldly degrees, a most satisfying living for you and your maker, do not bury it or ignore it, you rather do it part-time than not at all. If you have not discovered it yet, search yourself, ask God and don’t look back.
